soccer_barDreaming of having a cool sports bar can be a very fun and exciting idea to bring people in and make money from a bar business industry. To open a sports bar, the first design decision to make is what kind of sports theme for the sports bar. Much of this will be determined by the size and shape of the room. Let’s go over some of the design possibilities and cool sports bar ideas.

Sports theme

One of the more common and popular sports bar themes is to design bar around favorite sports team, using all the colors and paraphernalia and gear of the team. Halloween party is the most exciting party of the year a bar can think about. Make it more unforgettable than the other year it was celebrated. Here are the latest trend to make the halloween party in the bar more unique and fun:

LED illuminated Bar Equipments

Glow bar equipments with lights. LED Designs vary with some lights  designs to pour spouts, shooter glasses, lighted martinis, bottle tags, stirring sticks, flashing shaker, light-up ice buckets and even lighted ice cubes. Guests get more excited when they get to see their drinks are prepared and served with illuminated bar equipments.electra-pour-link

Spooky Interior design

halloween_decorating_ideas_spookyDecorate the bar with halloween spirited styles. Colorful gourds, pumpkins of all sizes, fall foliage, and Indian corn are inexpensive and easy to find. These harvest staples are a fantastic starting for Halloween decorations. Begin at the entrance door with stacks of pumpkins and small bales of hay or straw.  For a little extra amusement, carve a few pumpkins into grinning or grimacing jack-o-lanterns. Carefully, light votive candles inside the jacks or use battery powered bulbs to illuminate the front door with flickering glow at night.

Add more fright for the Halloween decoration by adding spooky elements. Fake cobwebs and spiders over doorways. Make silhouette cut outs of ravens, moons, and stars to hang on the bar counter top. Use a fog machine in the foyer and give the guests and visitors instant chills as they enter for a night of fun.

Anything orange or black will add to the festivities. Embellish black canvases with scary images and phrases using fluorescent or glow in the dark paints.

To create a mystical mood, use unique light bulb colors both inside and outside the bar. Try orange or red bulbs to accentuate the surrounding autumn colors, or go all out with black or purple lights for a psychedelic effect.

Build a mini creepy graveyard by spraying paint the skeletons_closetheadstones in traditional gray, or use funky colors like hot pink and neon green. Hang skeletons and scarecrows from ceilings inside. Or maybe put a coffin as a background for the stage.

Bloody drinks

The heart of  a Halloween party are the drinks. Create a drink that is named after Halloween creatures and any Halloween haunting drinks. Here are some common haunting names for cocktail drinks; Bloody Tini, Corpse reviver, Devil’s punch, Dracula’s kiss, Frog in a Blender, Ghostbuster, Black widow and a lot more.

Just remember that what makes a party a Halloween party is the creation of making a spooky atmosphere.

The planned amount of capital will always be the basis on what types and specialties of bar and cafe’ business an entrepreneur decides to open an establishment. Here are the kinds of bars one could think about:

Neighborhood bar and café is kind of bar that is friendly by which guests feel like it is a home away from home atmosphere and has nutritious meals which makes them the most visited place in the neighborhood. neighborhoodbarIt usually opens early as 11am serving breakfast and lunch with choices of drinks like tea, coffee or alcohol. It’s as almost as how English pubs work with having around dinner, some contemporary live music and some may show football nights promotions. Most people coming to this kind of bar for pre or post lunch and dinner drinks with very close friends.

Sports bar is mostly favorite place of young people who love sports. This bar serves food like sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and appetizers in company with sporting events and televisions viewed to every seat. It becomes popular for the sports gatherings held depending upon the capacity of sport bar and café. Since the major appeal here is sports, sports bars have TV screens everywhere viewing different tournaments and matches. Some bar and café owners take this passion further by even installing huge plasma screens which increase the customers as they find its too much fun viewing sports on big screens.
Brewpub or beer bar and café is, generally, a combinationbrewpubbrewery/restaurant. The beer is made on-premises for consumption by the restaurant patrons brewed by its own brand of beer or beverages and make customers come for that special mix of drink. This can be a great business if beer is served with meals or snacks which make people relax in the cozy environment returning from work or just to chat with friends.
This bar is very common in Europe and the source of a growing industry in the North America.
These kinds of bars and café can only be opened in areas where people are going to come. These bars are not good for residential areas as parents with children will not come to a brewpub or a beer bar and café.

Specialty bar and café are small in size, offer intimate sitting and are located in more sophisticated neighborhoods which people are fond of wines and can afford them easily. The costs and revenues from a specialty bar depend on the type of product you serve as well as its location. It focuses on one type of drink from wine to martinis or it can be a theme bar such as cigar bars. Although some specialty bars focus on only one drink, there is a wide selection available within the type by mixing it with many other things or serving it several ways which makes the customers come back again and again to try the other varieties.
These various types of bars and cafés run according to the kind of food to be served and the type of entertainment that has to offer.  From neighborhood bars to sports bars and brewpub bar and café to specialty bar and café, there is a huge variety of business options to choose from. However, it is important to remember that opening a type of bar and café also depends on the amount of investment that one can make and its location.

winesIf you are new to the world of wine, knowing how to taste wine may be confusing. Tasting wine is different than drinking wine. When you drink wine you are doing it for enjoyment with no other agenda. When tasting wines we are using the senses of sight, smell, taste and touch. The sense that requires the most development is that of smell. Smells create memory. You can walk into a room and, in an instant, you are reminded of another time and place – perhaps back in your infants’ school classroom or in grandma’s house. In the briefest of moments your nose has detected the constituents, analysed them and passed the information to the brain which has immediately related them to a point in the memory bank

If you are interested in learning how to taste wine, here are some tips.

1.The first step in tasting wine is actually to simply observe it. Pour a small amount of wine from the bottle into your glass and look at it. Place the glass on a white background (a cloth napkin or tablecloth will do fine) and check out its color. You will notice that white wines are really various shades of yellow and red wines are really various shades of purple, red and brown. Determine what color you see in the wine.

Pale white wines are usually newer wines. As white wines age, they get darker.

The purple hue in some reds is often a sign of young wine. Red wines tend toward the browner hues as they age.

2.The next step in tasting wine is to swirl the wine in a circular motion in the glass. This allows oxygen to get in the wine and helps to release the aroma of the wine.

3.Once you have swirled, it’s time to sniff. You are sniffing to see what type of “nose” the wine has. Nose is wine-speak for smell. Stick your nose right into your glass and breathe in its aroma. At first the only thing you may smell is wine. That’s okay! After a while of doing this withdifferent wines, you will begin to detect various aromas such as fruit, wood, spice, flowers and countless other fascinating substances. It takes practice to recognize these smells.

A simple way to help develop the sense of wine taste is to use it. With practice and concentration, the senses needed for wine tasting can be developed and refined. Memory and organizational skills also need to be developed: it is not of much use having the sensory skills to distinguish between, say, an inexpensive young, Cabernet Sauvignon from Maule (Chile) and a fine mature Merlot dominated wine from Pomerol (Bordeaux, France) if one cannot organize the characteristics in the brain and remember them.

silkroadYou love the feeling that you get when you walk into your local, favorite bar. You love the décor with great vintage plaques on the wall, good, worn stools to sit on and a well stressed bar. You feel at home and you love all of the small things that make this place so enjoyable. Yes, to build a bar, there are so many things to do and consider.

You must make sense how are you going to use your bar? Are you going to be hosting guests in your bar frequently? What kind of beverages do you, or your guests enjoy? If you like beer, then a larger refrigerator with special beer racks might be necessary. If you enjoy chilled wines, then make sure there is room for the size of bottles you enjoy. Some alcohol - like vodka - and liqueurs benefit from chilling as well. If you enjoy these beverages, and intend to stock them in your bar, then ensure that there is room in the refrigerator to hold these bottles properly.

If you want to install a tap in your bar, then you may purchase a special keg refrigerator -or ‘kegirator.’ Kegirators are sized to hold quarter-, half- and full kegs.

If you enjoy wine, and have an extensive collection of wine bottles, then a wine steward would be a wise investment. Wine stewards vary in size from tabletop versions to larger small models. A quality wine steward will have variable temperature control - enabling you to safely store your red, white and blush wines at the proper temperatures.

If you are into mixed or blended drinks, then an ice machine is a necessity. A hand-turned ice crusher and a blender will add versatility to your bartending.

A back-up beer cooler is also a worthwhile purchase for storing extra beer during parties. You can rotate in new beer when needed.

No matter where you are starting from, begin your home bar decorating with the furniture. When purchasing larger appliances, it is wise to check out the energy ratings. You can save money and energy while properly storing your beverages. Every new major appliance purchase has two prices: the initial purchase price and the cost of running and maintaining the appliance.

On the other hand, if you do want a more modern style bar, go for it! You will find many options including those that would be appropriate for your kitchen area or family room. Choose clean lines, updated materials with an underlying tone of woods that will match the other woodworking in your home. Always look for pieces that will complete the look for you.

basementbarIf you do much entertaining at home you may want to consider setting up a bar in your basement. Hosting parties from your full service basement bar is not only convenient, it is fun. Often basement space isn’t utilized, and putting in a private basement bar allows you to use the space available in a way that will not only enhance the value of your home, but it will enhance your social life as well. Getting a basement bar idea is one of the best things you can come up with as a homeowner. Its especially useful when you have a lot of friends coming over to party on weekends. Even for just the simple joy of hanging out, the basement is a perfect spot. However, the conversation doesn’t seem to end. There are a few things you have to consider when designing your basement bar.

Music

Most basement bars are used for entertaining and what good is a party without music? There are many ways to wire the room to have surround sound. This works great for the stereo as well as the television. Installing a sound system with speakers installed in the walls and ceiling is an easy way to keep from having to deal with wires showing. For those who don’t want to install speakers in the walls and ceiling you can place speakers around the room and hide the wires with area rugs on the floor and art on the walls. Be very careful not to run your wires through a heavy traffic area unless you have them protected with a plastic strip to keep them from being broken by people stepping on them.

Seating

Keep in mind you and your guests aren’t going to want to stand all of the time. Your bar can have bar stools but those aren’t going to be very comfortable for longer parties. You most likely are going to want to look into a few chairs as well as a sofa or two for your basement bar. Make sure you keep an open and friendly look. The space may be best utilized by having a few bean bags tossed in the room but not many people feel at home in that type of atmosphere. Keep your guests as well as your space in mind when you purchase furniture for your basement bar.

Liquor shelves

A liquor shelf is definitely a must-have in this room. Place your liquor shelf in an area where the temperature is consistent. This will help as most of the wine and other liquor types are temperature regulated. A basement bar idea can never be complete without this.

Kitchenette/Bar

The most important part of a basement bar is the bar itself. You have several options available, and each should include a refrigerator of some sort to keep your drinks and snacks cold. You can go with an under-the-counter compact fridge or even a full size version. It really is a matter of taste and convenience. Keep in mind how you will be using the fridge when you make your decisions. You will also want to think about having an ice machine installed behind the bar and a small sink available for water as well as cleaning up.

Some basement bars can be quite a well-designed that they don’t even look like basement at all. The designs are so good you might think it’s a bar in a hotel restaurant. The point is that all you need is a good and clear vision of how your bar should look like. Your basement bar idea is your key to make it happen. When it’s done you’ll be the envy of your friends and neighborhood.

insidebarSkip the lines, costs and tips: Host your friends at home with a bar of your own making. Blame it on rising gas prices, inflated bar costs or just the trouble it takes to make the trip downtown or to the nearest corner pub: heading out on the town for a drink has never been more of a pain. While there are few things better than imbibing with friends at the end of a week, an evening spent searching for parking, paying covers and navigating through dense crowds could cause more stress than relaxation.

But now comes the time to decide what to keep on hand so that you will be known as the perfect amateur bartender. If money is no object, simply go the nearest liquor store and buy one of everything. This option is not only expensive, but you would probably end up with more bottles than space to store them. A more sensible solution would be to pick and choose a selection of liquors, non-alcoholic beverages, tools and equipments and little extras to really impress your guests.

few handy tools are necessary even for the new bartender. A well-stocked bar is more than just the bottles you have on hand. The right tools, displayed on your countertop will go a long way in impressing your guests and will also help making drinks that look like they were made by at professional bartender.

One of the first bar tools that you will need is a decent shaker. They are useful for building drinks, mixing them properly and transferring them into glasses not to mention they make a good show for your guests. Shakers come in two types: 1) Conventional ones with a cap and a built-in strainer and; 2) Boston shaker which is a large mixing glass with a scale in centiliters and ounces. You will need a strainer to go with the Boston shaker.

Anyone who likes margaritas, daiquiris and pina coladas needs an electric blender. Aim for a smaller model that will take as much space on your bar.

Jiggers and measuring spoons will help you make consistent drinks every time. It also prevents you from being to heavy handed on the booze. Remember that goal is to create a great tasting drink and not to get everyone drunk.

A muddler is a thick stick made out of wood or stainless steel that is used to mash ingredients such as fruits, sugar or mint into a glass when you just want to infuse the flavors into the drink without blending it to a pulp..

Corkscrew and bottle opener

Cutting board

Citrus juicer

Ice bucket and ice tongs

After two weeks of work – although, as fun as it was, I think. You couldn’t really call it work – you had a complete home bar. A few things were left to do, though: have even more fun stocking up and inviting our friends over for some serious entertaining!

comfortable_barstool1You are lying on your back. Your body feels hot, unable to move another inch. Every muscle in your body tells your brain it refuses to move. But your brain tells your body that it must move. You must get up one more time, in order to get the drinks that you could die without. So, your mind tells your carcass to ignore any feelings of being tired, pained, or overused. You place your hands behind your head, to support it as you curl your upper body forwards. Nearing the halfway point, gravity starts to resist, pushing you back towards the ground. But you keep moving forward and leftward, until your right elbow contacts your left knee. Then suddenly, your body quickly drops back to the ground, exhausted from doing your last sit-up of the set. While turning on a swivel bar stool actually reduces resistance, instead of increasing it, the action resembles the turning motion of many stomach exercises.

Genes or Jeans?

The need for stomach exercises shows that overeating has become an epidemic in modern society. In fact, obesity is the U.S.’s second most common cause of preventable death. This fact shows that slow metabolism and “bad” genes cannot always be blamed for obesity. Worse, the problem does not end with obesity. Being overweight can cause other health problems, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes. While sitting on a swivel bar stool all day is not advisable, its full range of motion can motivate people to hit the gym.

Twist and Burn

Several exercises are useful in isolating the stomach’s muscles, and many of them require the exerciser to twist the middle part of his body. There are some exercises that isolate certain parts of a person’s midsection.

The jack-knife sit-up is an exercise that focuses on one’s abs. First, sit on a mat or on the floor. Do not try this on a swivel bar stool! You can either use no weight, or place a weight between your ankles. Lie flat on the surface, with hands to the sides. At the same time, raise your knees and upper body until the hips and knees are bent. Then return to the starting position, with the waist, hips, and knees stretched out.

The weighted incline twisting crunch is an excellent exercise for one’s oblique. Hook your feet under padding and lie flat on an incline bench, bending your hips. Use both hands to hold a plate on your chest. Twist your waist, to raise your upper waist from the bench, to one side. Return until the shoulders’ back touches the padded incline board. Then repeat on the opposite side.

After doing several sets of these exercises, you have earned the right to sit on a swivel bar stool, which does all the work for you!

homebar_stoolsMaybe, you’re in the market to buy some barstools. Well, you have already made the decision to buy them, whether you are looking for kitchen stools, breakfast bar stools, outdoor bar stools or any normal run-of-the-mill barstools you are probably wondering just what the best ways to go about purchasing them are. It actually boils down to three main options- locally, through a catalog or from the internet.

Bar tables and bar stools can turn any room into a fun, interesting gathering place. However, deciding on the right bar sets to accessorize with is no easy feat. With so many different styles to choose from consider these helpful hints when planning to purchase bar furniture.

Setting: Is your setting a residence, commercial business, restaurant, or a patio or outdoor area? Maybe you like the Chicago blues style with a black finished wood and minimal but artsy accents for your pub tables and bar stools. Or perhaps you’d prefer distressed finished woods for that worn-in western saloon style. Also think about the amount of space you have to work with.

Style: Whatever your style there are plenty of bar tables and bar stools to choose from. Styles include Traditional, World Poker Tour, Modern, Retro, Contemporary, College Sports and Tropical, just to name a few.

Frame: Various types of bar table and bar stool frames include stainless steel, wood, wrought iron which is weather resistant for the outdoor patio, bamboo for a tropical theme, teak wood, recycled plastic for you greenies out there, and even shiny chrome for that Route 66, 50’s malt shop feel.

Type: If you only need barstools then get the old tape measure out to calculate whether you want a short height, counter height, bar height, extra tall, adjustable height, or custom height bar stools. Your seat heights usually come in between 18″-36″ or adjustable. Likewise, when browsing bar tables think about the height and whether you want a round, rectangular or square-shaped table top - whatever best fits your space.

Features: There are numerous features to choose from such as swivels, arms, backs, finishes, folding, stacking, step stools, billiards, ladder back, nautical themes and assembly choices.

Anyway, the best way to buy barstools is up to you!
